Profile
Brent devotes a significant portion of his practice to defending employers in employment-related litigation and representing employers in traditional labor matters including unfair labor practice proceedings, representation cases, arbitration and collective bargaining. He is also focused on proactively counseling employers regarding day-to-day employment decisions to avoid litigation. He works with a variety of employers nationwide, including communications companies, service providers, educational institutions, non-profit groups, public entities and manufacturing operations. Brent is also a frequent speaker on litigation, employment and labor relations topics for the Institute on Continuing Legal Education and the Council on Education in Management and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Labor Relations at the Emory University School of Law.

Areas of Practice
Employment Discrimination Litigation

Brent helped to successfully defend a large restaurant chain against a claim of sex discrimination by the EEOC. He has also tried numerous cases in the federal and state systems to positive verdicts.

Labor Relations
Brent served as an intern and Field Attorney with the National Labor Relations Board for over three years. He is a member of the Committee for the Development of the Law under the National Labor Relations Act of the American Bar Association and is a contributing editor to the treatise The Developing Labor Law

Education Law
Brent represents a variety of elementary, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, including large metropolitan school systems, state universities and charter schools.

Communications Industries
Brent has represented a variety of communications clients, including national telecommunications companies, cable systems and newspapers and television networks.
