December 1, 2009 Atlanta, GA - Stanford G. Wilson, managing partner of the Atlanta law firm Elarbee Thompson, and John C. Stivarius, partner, have been selected by their peers as Georgia Trend's "Legal Elite" for 2009. The business magazine polled thousands of Georgia attorneys for nominations of professionals in a variety of recognized practice areas for the seventh annual edition of the list. Stan was selected in the area of labor and employment law and John was selected in General Practice/Trial Law. Both are featured in the magazine's December issue. Stan has represented employers in labor and employment law matters since 1980. He focuses on defending employers in employment-related litigation and representing employers in traditional labor matters including unfair labor practice proceedings, representation cases, arbitrations and collective bargaining. He also focuses on proactively counseling employers regarding day-to-day employment decisions in order to avoid litigation. He has participated as lead counsel in over fifty-four (54) jury trials during his 28 plus year career. John has also advised the top executives of many companies, from Fortune 100 to medium and smaller employers, on wide-ranging topics including class action avoidance, discrimination, loss prevention, best litigation practices, and trial tactics and strategy, as well as diverse contractual matters.
