Profile
John represents public and privately held companies throughout the United States and Georgia in employment-related litigation, ranging from individual cases to broad-scale class and collective actions. He concentrates his practice on litigation and counseling matters involving employment discrimination, harassment, disability and Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) issues, restrictive covenants, trade secret protection, and wage and hour lawsuits brought pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) dealing with employee misclassification and overtime liability. In addition, as a member of the firm’s Complex Litigation group, John has extensive experience in lawsuits involving contract disputes, fraud, conspiracy, civil racketeering (RICO), and tort claims for interference with business and contractual relationships.
Recent Experience
· Successfully defended one of the Southeast’s largest international grocery stores in a collective/class action wage and hour suit brought pursuant to FLSA
· Secured a favorable settlement for one of Georgia’s oldest beverage distribution companies in a single-plaintiff FLSA claim
· Currently serving as co-defense counsel in numerous federal lawsuits involving allegations of discrimination and retaliation
· Currently serving as co-defense counsel for seven individual defendants in a $100 million case against a School Board involving allegations of fraud, conspiracy, civil racketeering (RICO), and interference with business relationships
